Rock Scores a Hat Trick at the Maple Lodge Farms OMHA Hockey Festival

Rock Scores a Hat Trick at the Maple Lodge Farms OMHA Hockey Festival

April 11, 2009

We made the promise to have this year's Maple Lodge Farms OMHA Hockey
Festival be the best ever and lived up to our goal. The Festival ran from
April 8th to the 10th and 92 hockey teams came to compete at the Iroquois
Park Sports Centre in Whitby.

The highlight of the fun-filled three days came at 2:00 pm on Saturday at
the Mascot Hockey Game. Families had gathered to cheer on their favourite
mascot and this year's line up had the lovable characters from several
professional sports teams including Carlton the Bear from the Toronto Maple
Leafs.

Our big Rooster ROCK must have been practicing his hockey skills throughout
the winter because when he got onto that ice, he clearly had winning in
mind. Although the game only lasted an action-packed 12 minutes (it must be tough to be playing hockey in those big costumes!), ROCK scored a phenomenal 3 goals, including the winning goal, securing the win with a final score of 6 goals to 5.

The fans went crazy, throwing their baseballs caps onto the ice and cheering
GO ROCK GO! Afterwards ROCK signed autographs, posed for pictures with fans, and hugged a lot of kids. 2009 is really shaping up to be the Year of the
Rooster! GO ROCK GO!
