It AllThe original plot of land the Mays lived on is where Maple Lodge Farms still stands today.Arriving in the 1830s, the May family settled on a farm outside of the town of Norval which is now Brampton, Ontario. They brought with them a proud tradition of hard work, agricultural wisdom and humble family values.Setting Roots in CanadaBuilding TheBy the turn of the century, the May family was a fixture of the Norval community. Led by Wesley May, the family built a barn on the homestead which now serves as the Maple Lodge Farms head office.
Years later, Wesley passed the deed on to his son, Lawrence “Bompy” May.BarnBegan With EggsThe Mays built a barn on the family homestead , still serving as the Maple lodge Farms head office today. -
It AllYou can see Bompy and his baskets of eggs on all of our products today.Selling Eggs Door-to-DoorTimes were tough for the May family during the Great Depression. With income from the farm shrinking, Bompy (Lawrence May) and his wife Gwen had a brilliant idea to earn some extra money: putting a few boxes of eggs in the back of the truck and selling them door-to-door.Began With EggsOur founder, Lawrence “Bompy” May, and his wife began selling eggs door-to-door during the Great Depression to help make ends meet.

Start Of The Chicken EraLike Father, Like SonsOnce they were teenagers, Bompy’s two sons, Jack and Bob, started to help their father with his egg deliveries. Soon after joining the business, the two sons had their own brilliant idea: they added a cooler to their truck and started selling homegrown chickens fresh from the farm. As they say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!To keep up with growing demands, Maple Lodge Farms Limited was officially established in 1955.

Start Of The Chicken EraChicken, IncorporatedLess than a decade after they transformed Bompy’s egg delivery service into a chicken company, word spread about Jack and Bob’s high quality foods, and the two brothers found they needed help to fill customer orders.
With the growing demand, Jack & Bob decided to officially establish “Maple Lodge Farms Limited” in 1955.Our Extended FamilyAlong with Jack and Bob, they built the foundation of the Maple Lodge Farms business that led to its success today.In 2015, our first ever employee celebrated 65 years with the company - and he's still working to this day!The extended family helped build the foundation for what Maple Lodge Farms is today. -

The successful launch led to another innovation in 2015, Naturally From The Farm, a line of products made with natural, simple ingredients.We took our passion for wholesome foods to the next level with the launch of Fresh From the Farm, a line of air chilled, locally sourced, air chilled, fresh chicken. Inspired by its success, we introduced Naturally from the Farm, another product line of products made with natural, simple ingredients.
